Hey all!

Today, we want to talk about Lumi Mini, the “memory card” inspired mini-game collection we recently revealed for Star Garden. This game was made possible because of you. During our Kickstarter campaign, you helped us reach the stretch goal that brought Lumi Mini to life. Thank you so much!

Lumi Mini will be included in the full game for free, but there’s a fun twist… it also runs on an original Dreamcast VMU!

That part still feels fun to say.

When we started working on Lumi Mini, we knew we didn’t want it to be a fake, “so retro” experience, we wanted it to feel true to the actual hardware. So, with that in mind, we made Lumi Mini as a VMU game first.

That meant learning the hardware, working around its limits, and designing for a very, very tiny screen. It made us think about many Star Garden aspects in a completely different way. What does a Lumi look like on a screen that small? What kinds of mini-games actually feel good to play on a VMU? Stuff like that. These challenges ended up being very fun to solve!

Lumi Mini is a small part of the full Star Garden experience, but we also think that it has its own special identity. We hope it feels like something that belongs inside Star Garden, while also feeling like the kind of unique, charming mini-game you might have carried around in your pocket years ago.

In case you missed it, a major FREE content update is now live for our FREE Steam demo, Star Garden: The Trial! Did we mention it's FREE?!

The Green Glade Venture Field has received a complete makeover! The level is now four times larger and packed with incredible detail and new areas to discover.

You can now also experience the Green Glade Lumi Garden after dark!

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Curiomatic is now collaborating with us on Star Garden! Known for their upcoming game Rollin' Rascal and the fan-favorite Smashified series, the Curiomatic team did an incredible job helping us rework this level.

The update is ready to be downloaded on Steam right now. We also have one more free content update planned for the demo, so stay tuned!

Today, let's dive into one of the main stars of Star Garden: Leo!

Leo is a cosmic ecologist, specifically a field scout, who somehow stays athletic despite his infamous appetite! While he's known for having a massive heart and being fiercely protective of his friends (especially his partner-in-crime, Lyra), he does have a habit of acting before he thinks.

We are beyond excited to have the incredibly talented Kimlinh Tran voicing Leo! You might recognize Kimlinh's voice from Pokémon, Skullgirls, Dragon Ball Z: Abridged, and even Snipperclips!

We have BREAKING NEWS! A free content update just dropped for the Star Garden: The Trial demo on Steam!

StaRide mode is now in the demo! This is Star Garden's racing mode, where you can race against your friends on different tracks, both locally and online. The demo includes the first track, Lumi Meadows.

You can also set a race as the Finale of a CosmiClash match. Normally, a CosmiClash match ends with a fight in the Cosmic Tempest. Now, you can replace that with a race instead. Your Lumi keeps all the stats and the evolved vehicle form it gained during the match, so everything you built up still carries over to the race.

Just like in CosmiClash, random events can pop up mid-race, and some tracks have shortcuts that favor different Lumi, so there's real strategy in which one you bring.

This wraps up our planned free content updates to The Trial! We may still release balance patches and other smaller updates to the demo down the road, but our main focus now shifts to finishing the full game.

Everything we added to the demo is also going into the full game. So none of this was extra work. It was all progress on the final product too.

Also, on a related note, to those of you who backed us at the beta tester tiers, thank you! We'll have more to share about how beta access will work soon. In the meantime, we hope The Trial keeps you busy.

Lyra is the one who keeps every mission on track. As a cosmic ecologist and one of the pilots of the Green Haven Mk. II, she holds herself to very high standards. Whether she is following a strict rulebook or finishing a complex checklist, she expects excellence from herself and everyone around her. Lyra has a soft spot for her friends, especially Leo! Together, they make a great team.

We are thrilled to have the amazing Lizzie Freeman voicing Lyra! You have likely heard Lizzie's fantastic work in The Amazing Digital Circus, Genshin Impact, Pokémon, and even Persona 3 Reload!
